MicroFocus for
Meade
Cassegrain Telescopes Meade
Cassegrain Telescopes (other than ETX)
Some
Meade SCTs are not consistent in the focusing mechanism design, so we now identify the appropriate MicroFocus
for your equipment by the style of the
focus knob (see chart below).
The piggy-backed MicroFocus works on
ROUND FOCUS KNOBS ONLY, not on hex-shaped knobs.
NOTE
|
To verify which MicroFocus version you need, please check the
Focusing Knob style against the following chart:

What
is MicroFocus?
MicroFocus is a push-on two-speed
manual focus mechanism that attaches to the shaft of an SCT
focuser knob (or the knob itself) for precise focusing. It includes
separate knobs for coarse and fine adjustments with a numeric dial
indicator for improved accuracy and repeatability. Mounting is
easy and requires no drilling or tapping. |

Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ)
|
Q. |
What
is the difference between a MicroFocus and MOTOFOCUS? |
A. |
Both mechanisms are designed to be attached to the shaft of an
SCT
focuser knob (or the knob itself) to assist in focusing. MicroFocus
adds a slow-speed manual knob whereas MOTOFOCUS adds a hand unit and motor
to automate movement of the telescopes focusing knob. |
